In less than two hours on Wednesday the NBA went from planning to play games in empty arenas to suspending the season entirely.
On Thursday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver addressed the situation by saying the league will be on hiatus for at least 30 days and then will go from there in regards to figuring out a plan for the remainder of the season.
Since we can’t tell the future, we might have just watched the final game of the 2019-20 season, but there’s also a chance that the league fires back up a month from now and plays out the season. Well, the Phoenix Suns don’t want their fans to wait that long so they’ve figured out a way to still play their remaining games – even if the outcomes mean nothing.
According to the Suns’ Twitter account, they still plan on going through with their games on the calendar over the next 30 days, but they’re going to play them on NBA 2K over Twitch.
Sure, the atmosphere won’t be anything like the real thing, but at least the Suns are finding ways to keep their fans occupied during this tough time and it will certainly help them take their mind off everything for a couple of hours.
