On the superhero theme night, the Pittsburgh Penguins got a super performance from their biggest superstars.
Kessel powered the Penguins to victory with four points in the 6-2 win over the Isles, including two goals, which was the first marker since November 19th, snapping a seven-game goalless streak; Sidney Crosby notched three points; while Kris Letang tallied two
The Penguins encouraged fans to dress up as popular superheroes such as Spiderman, Superman, Batman and Captain America and other prominent figures.
Prior to puck drop and throughout the game, the Pens' digital and social media team released a number of graphics and gifs of the players as superheroes.
Our personal favourite from the night was none other than Kessel himself.
After Kessel scored his first of the night, the Penguins released one of the better (and slightly uncomfortable) gifs you'll see.
But we have to give props to Crosby and Guentzel as Batman and Robin.
With the win, Pittsburgh jumped in third in the Metro with 29 points and a 12-10-5 record.
