Matt Martin is known as one of the enforcers that can actually contribute on the scoresheet in the NHL, but Nathan Beaulieu is someone that might sneak up on you as a good fighter in the league.

He has averaged three fights per season since he started playing full-time in the NHL and he wins just about all of them. He probably won his latest fight as well, mainly due to a scary punch that buckled Martin on Thursday night. James P McCoy captured the moment with a perfectly-timed photo.

As more information comes out about concussions, these moments become scarier and scarier. Martin appeared to be okay, getting up immediately after the punch and actually throwing a couple back his way, but every landed hit does it’s damage and you can see how much it can do in the photo above.

Already things are starting to change.

Mark Borowiecki has now said that he is turning down fights in the NHL from now on. As someone who has fought a lot in his career, he understands the risk he is taking with every fight in the NHL and he’s no longer willing to take that risk.
