The first round of results from the NBA’s All-Star voting are here, and as a pleasant surprise, second-year phenomenon Luka Doncic leads all vote-getters with 1.07 million votes.

People are less enthused to see Lakers back-up guard Alex Caruso and Celtics two-way rookie Tacko Fall crack the top-10 at their respective positions. Both Caruso and Fall have been embraced as cult favorites on social media; Fall is a 7-foot-5 viral sensation, while Caruso is a balding 25-year-old with unsuspecting hops. That’s really the gist of their appeal.

There’s nothing wrong with either player, really, but it’ll definitely rub some fans the wrong way to see, say, Caruso with more votes than Devin Booker, and neither Caruso nor Fall have ann actual All-Star credibility at this point in their careers.

As long as fan voting exists, so will the meme votes. It’s just part of the territory. Fans only account for 50 percent of the vote too, with NBA players and media each accounting for 25 percent. Caruso and Fall won’t sniff the starting lineup when it’s all said and done.

But yeah, the internet isn’t thrilled about this. Except for the people that voted for Caruso and Fall. For them, this is extremely funny.
