Two years removed from 2016 1st overall pick Auston Matthews getting a massive tattoo of a lion on his right arm, 2016 2nd overall pick Patrik Laine has done the same. As if the comparisons weren’t enough already.
Laine’s new ink is much more than the lion, though. While the lion represents the Finnish national hockey team, and also “looks cool”, he also has a cool pattern down his forearm, highlighted by a joker playing card.
Laine states that the tattoo is not done (despite taking 14 hours to this point), and even considers whether he’ll do the other arm as well.
The real question is, who’s do you prefer? L.A. Kings mascot Bailey – who is, after all, a lion – may be the best one to ask. Bailey certainly appreciated when Matthews got the work done.
