It’s weird seeing Patrick Kane in a USA jersey at this time of year.
The 29-year-old can typically be seen in a Chicago Blackhawks jersey while battling for Lord Stanley’s Cup. However, Chicago’s perennial contender surprisingly failed to clinch a playoff spot during the regular season. With his NHL year in the books, Kane has turned his attention to winning a different championship across seas. The three-time Stanley Cup champ has been nothing shy of dominant with the U.S. so far at the 2018 IIHF World Hockey Championships and has already accomplished an impressive feat. With his most recent two-point performance, the Buffalo native set a new record for most points (17) by an American at the tournament along with the most assists (11).
Kane has also taken on a unique leadership role with the tream. He’s currently serving as captain and has them sitting pretty at the top of the Group B Division at 4-2-0.

Kane has played more hockey than most over the past few springs and clearly isn’t looking for any sort of break. A Gold medal at the tournament would add another impressive piece to his illustrious collection of trophies.
