Add Artemiy Panairn to the list of players disappointed with their NHL 20 rating.

The Russian discovered through Twitter over the weekend that he was slapped with an 89, a respectable number but perhaps not high enough for a player who scored 87 points in 79 games last season. Panarin didn’t seem to agree with his rating but his attention was geared more towards a couple of flaws in EA’s Ratings reveal. Not only was his signature toe tape job too long (and it excluded the black strip of tape along the blade), but the company also spelled his name wrong. Apparently there’s a Y at the end of his first name… who knew?!

He does raise a point.

Speaking of that number one overall… EA tabbed Connor McDavid as the game’s best player with a 94 rating. Sidney Crosby came in hot at number 2 with a 93.

Now in the Big Apple, Panarin should have little difficulty improving his rating while playing on a line with Mika Zibanejad. Let’s all just remember that he doesn’t use this much tape AND that his first name is spelled with a y at the end.
