P.K. Subban has apparently fought 16 times in his NHL career, but he had a pretty good reason for choosing not to drop the gloves with the Avs’ Nikita Zadorov.
The Predators played the Avalanche on Wednesday night and the team came away with a big 4-1 win. Subban racked up another point on the night, but just as important was the fact that he didn’t take any penalties on the night. It would have been easy to, with Zadorov apparently challenging him to a fight, but as Subban points out in this bit of audio, that wouldn’t have been the most even trade.
WARNING: NSFW Language
It’s unfortunate that we’re not able to see Subban while he’s chirping Zadorov, because that no doubt would have gone down in the hockey chirps hall of fame that are so often circulated on social media and built into everyone’s favourite YouTube compilations.
Oh and just in case you were wondering, in the same amount of games played this season, Subban has 11 points and Zadorov has two. So while we wouldn’t say he is a “Terrible hockey player”, we’d have to say Subban made the right decision not dropping the gloves.
