P.K. Subban returned to Montreal for just the second time last night since becoming a member of the Nashville Predators, and it was clear that there is a little bad blood with his former teammates. The 28-year-old was nearly taken out by Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher and the former later gave Subban an earful after he opened the scoring in the second period.
After the game, Gallagher questioned why reporters were asking him about P.K. and proceeded to share some unflattering words about the Predators blue-liner. He criticized Subban for being a minus-1 and went as far as saying “he came in here and tried to make it about P.K.”
Subban responded to Gallaghers’ comments with some words of his own, but expressed on his Twitter page that he still loves Montreal despite tonight’s events.
Subban remains an important figure in Montreal, as he pledged $10 million to the city’s Children’s Hospital in 2015. He even made sure to make a trip back with teammates ahead of last night’s game.
Regardless of what Canadiens players think of Subban, many fans likely still have a soft spot for their former defender.
