It’s been a sad week for those close to Michael K. Williams, and the city of Baltimore as a whole.

Williams, who tragically passed away this week at the age of 54, was actually born in Brooklyn, New York but let’s remember… he played one of the most iconic roles in television history as Omar Little from The Wire, which took place in Maryland. Well, to honour his legacy, play-by-play voice Kevin Brown dropped arguably his most iconic line from the show following a Kevin Hays home run.

“You come at the king, you best not miss.”

Iconic.

The Wire, which aired from 2002-2008, gradually became regarded as one of the best shows of all time, largely in part to Williams’ portrayal as Omar. Both Williams, and his character will always hold a special place in the city and we couldn’t think of a better way to honour him during the game.

Well done, Kevin.
