Pardon the pun, but Shohei Ohtani season is in full swing. The Los Angeles Angels slugger and ace has completely taken the MLB by storm as he continues to succeed in the batter’s box as well as on the mound. The level of dominance he’s shown from both his pitching role and his positional role is extremely rare, and he’s been the source of all kinds of broken records as a result.

Most recently, and perhaps most impressively, Ohtani became the first MLB player to ever be selected to the All-Star Game as both a pitcher and a position player.

Poetically, on the day of this incredible history, Ohtani smashed a major jack to centre field and sent Angel Stadium into a frenzy.

Ohtani leads the league with 31 home runs and a 0.704 slugging percentage. He sits 3rd in RBIs and OPS, as well. That’s just the batting side.

On the pitching side, Ohtani holds a 3.60 ERA over 12 starts. In 60 innings pitched, Ohtani has struck out 83 batters and has held his opposition below the Mendoza line at .194.

The Japanese born superstar continues to wow, and he’s the most fun player to watch in the world right now.
