Home field advantage is very important in the sport of baseball. Not only does it allow you certain privileges such as the right to bat second but it has the factor of familiarity that other sports have too. When a team plays in a park that it knows so well, in front of fans that cheer for them and often even idolize them, it instills an innate motivation to perform.

For that reason, it’s important to protect home field advantage. In order to do this more effectively, the Oakland Athletics have come up with a clever way to deal with their pesky, close-proximity rivals, the San Francisco Giants.

Yup, that is a real release. Apparently stubborn Giants fans will have to pay an extra $20 in they are hoping to get a spot in the Oakland Coliseum parking lot.

The A’s certainly aren’t afraid to have a little fun with their rivals
