The Buffalo Beauts and the Metropolitan Riveters went head-to-head in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) Isobel Cup final on Sunday and it turned out to be quite the battle.

Although it all came down to one single game, it was pretty much a Game 7 for these two teams as they split the season series against one another, 3-3. It showed all game long as the two teams went back and forth for 60 minutes, but only one player managed to find the back of the net in the most important game of the season and it was a memorable one.

After having her initial shot attempt blocked by Beauts defenceman Rebecca Vint, Riveters forward Alexa Gruschow picked up the loose puck and managed to find the back of the net despite having her entire body in the air.

The Riveters went on to win the Isobel Cup thanks to that goal as they blanked the Beauts 1-0.
