On Sunday, Norman Powell slept in his own bed. He took the same route he’s used to the arena. The only major difference; he’s playing for the other team.
Instead of heading to the Toronto Raptors locker room, Powell made his way to the visitor’s room after being dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers on NBA trade deadline day. Portland is the first non-Raptors team Powell has played for, so it’s understandably a little bit of unchartered territory for him.
No moment made that more obvious than Powell taking the floor ahead of tip-off and accidentally lining up on the Raptors’ side of the ball.
While it was just a simple mistake, it hit us all squarely in the feels. Many Raptors fans likely wish that he was still lining up on the Raps’ side of the ball, but now the fan base is getting to know Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood instead.
