The Los Angeles Dodgers got off to a slow start this season as they posted a 26-30 record through the first 56 games, but they managed to turn things around once the calendar rolled over from May to June.

Since June 1, the Dodgers have gone 27-13 and have climbed to the very top of the NL West standings, where they currently hold a half-game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks as of the All-Star break. Looking to make the most of the season and hoping to capture the team’s first World Series title since 1988, the Dodgers made a huge splash during the break by landing Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado in a blockbuster deal.

While just about every Dodgers fan was stoked about the move and the fact that their team is going all in right now, no one was more excited about the deal than Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner.

The 2017 NLCS MVP was spending some time with Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood and he happened to get the news about the deal while they were out on the water. Luckily the Dodgers’ third baseman’s wife, Kourtney, was also with them as she ended up recording the special moment between teammates.

Machado has hit 30 or more home runs in each of the past three seasons and has a chance to set career-highs across the board this year as he already has 24 home runs and 65 RBI in 96 games. The move also bumped the Dodgers to the top of the list as favourites to win the NL Pennant, improving from 4/1 odds to 3/1 to leapfrog the Chicago Cubs. Their odds to win the World Series also improved as they went from 17/2 to 13/2.
