Bystanders catching baseballs at the ballpark is an art form. We’ve seen all kinds of nutty catches, from fans pulling it off with their cup of beer to fans pulling it off while preserving their cup of beer. It’s a very open-ended medium, is our general point here.
So, our hats off to this fan who was around during a recent Seattle Mariners’ pregame event and making catches with, of all things, a watermelon:
We’re huge fans, and so are the Boston Red Sox!
It begs the question, what other inanimate objects can fans bring to the ballpark for catching baseballs? Obviously, the use of the watermelon lends itself to suggesting other fruits, such as pineapples or coconuts, as glove alternatives.
Honestly, we just want to see somebody make a catch with Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet from Infinity War. They can be bought for less than 50 dollars, although if you really want to shell out, even more realistic ones can be had for a few hundred dollars.
