When it comes to social media presence, the stats show that NHL players are much less visible than other sports.

In regards to the 100 highest-paid athletes in the world, NHL players and Canadians are completely invisible.

Forbes just released their highest-paid athletes of 2017 list and it doesn't feature any hockey players or Canadian athletes.

Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list once again and he'll probably be there again next year.

In all, 21 countries were represented on the list, but Canada wasn't one of them, and 11 sports were represented, but hockey wasn't one of them.

Three sports featured just one athlete on the list and those sports are cricket, MMA and track.

If you're wondering who the biggest movers on the list were, both Stephen Curry and Connor McGregor rose 61 spots thanks to endorsement deals (Curry) and earnings from fights (McGregor).

In total, the top 100 highest-paid athletes earned $3.11 billion dollars over the last 12 months, which is actually down from last year ($3.15 billion), but we imagine no one on this list is complaining.

Be sure to check out the entire list here.
