The NFL has gone digital this year.

The league’s newly implemented Twitch streaming service, that has featured every Thursday night game so far this year, will add a popular twist this week, that will feature famous Fortnite streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins commentating the game.

The partnership with the Amazon-owned Twitch streaming service allows NFL fans to experience football in a new and innovative way, where they can engage with other users in the Twitch Chat and react to the game in real time.

This week, though, Twitch is taking it to a whole new level.

Ninja is a widely-known pro streamer, best known for his livestream with Drake,  that rose to fame on the wings of the unbelievably popular Fortnite game. He’s making the jump to football for tonight’s game, that will feature the Los Angeles Chargers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Blevins will be co-streaming the game to his community through his own channel, which will be separate from the main game stream, but will provide interesting insight for fans who follow both the NFL and Ninja’s gaming endeavours. While Ninja is the most notable streamer that will be providing commentary, some other Twitch streamers will be following suit.

In a statement, Blevins spoke to his excitement, and to his love of football ahead of his commentary debut.

“Playing video games is just one of my passions, I’m also a lifelong NFL fan, which runs in my family. It’s cool to be able to co-stream and commentate a Thursday Night Football game for my Twitch community and connect with them over other interests like this.”

While this is a collaboration we weren’t expecting, it’s definitely one we’re looking forward to.
