LeBron James is one of the players that thrives on people doubting him and it’s possible his biggest doubter plays in the same city as him.
Damarious Randall, who currently plays with Cleveland’s NFL team, the Browns, posted a tweet after the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets, betting against LeBron. That in itself, seems like a good bet, the Warriors are heavy favourites to win the NBA Championship and it would be one of the greatest underdog stories in the league’s history if he LeBron can somehow pull it off.
The thing that makes this bet so horrible is that there is virtually no upside for Damarious (He wins nothing if LeBron loses) and at the current rate that his tweet is going (680,000 retweets, $130 per LeBron jersey), it could cost him at least $89 million.
Now, you might say he just won’t actually do it. Well, that might be still be true, but he says he will 100% follow through on this promise if LeBron ends up winning.
There are going to be a lot of Twitter users hopping on the LeBron bandwagon after this weird bet.
We’ve seen a lot of other people make ludicrous promises on Twitter and see them follow through. From Genie Bouchard’s Super Bowl date to a guy getting Gary Bettman tattooed on him, LeBron James beating the Warriors wouldn’t even be the most surprising outcome of them all.
