The Dallas Stars were one goal away from heading back to the Stanley Cup Final, and so far through the offseason, they look poised for another deep playoff run next spring.

The Stars added a trio of veterans in Joe Pavelski, Corey Perry and Andrej Sekera in free agency to surround their core of Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov, John Klingberg, Miro Heiskanen and Ben Bishop.

Down at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, Seguin was joined by his new teammate Pavelski as they competed in the celebrity golf tournament.

On the first day of free agency, the former Sharks captain inked a three-year deal worth $21 million ($7 million AAV).

"Oh yeah it was tough," explained the 35-year-old to NBC Sports Bay Area earlier his week.

"I don’t want to say it was harder than I thought it was going to be because I knew it was going to be hard once we got to that state and started looking at different teams and understanding that it was a real possibility that we should be prepared in case it gets there."

As the tournament progress, which was eventually won by Tony Romo, Seguin joined Andre Igoudola and practiced his jumper out on the course.

While there's still summer months to soak up, Seguin is already gearing up for next season with the beefed-up Stars.

"The thing is, especially with GMs, with teams you're either going all-in and going for it or you're kind of re-stocking. When you see a GM make moves like going to get a guy like Joe Pavelski he's telling the whole team 'Our window's open, we're going to win the Stanley Cup. That's our objective," Seguin told NBC Sports in a Q&A.

"That's our goal. That's the expectation. As a player on the team you get even more excited when you see these moves happening in the summer. You're always working hard in the gym, but you're even more dialed in now because you know they're all-in so you want to be all-in and make sure you don't let your teammates down."

Seguin tied of 69th place (nice), while Pavelski finished tied for 11th, one spot behind Stars legend Mike Modano.
