Refereeing in the NBA is certainly no easy gig. If you can get by all the huffing and puffing about the league being fixed, it still presents many challenges. Calling small touches as a player goes up for a shot can be extremely quick, and extremely hard to make the right call, but sometimes refs still have a little fun.
It may not have been fun that Tom Washington was going for, but he produced a funny moment none the less. Just as the play-by-play announcer was in the middle of talking about the veteran officiating crew and their surplus of experience in playoff basketball, Washington pulled off a huge, out-of-nowhere pump fake to fool everyone.
The moment left even the players wondering what the heck had just happened.
