Colorado Avalanche fans and St. Louis Blues fans waited all day to hear whether or not Nazem Kadri would be available for Game 3 of the series, but when puck drop rolled around Kadri was nowhere to be found on the ice.

At the end of the first period the NHL’s Department of Player Safety dropped the news and let the hockey world know that Nazem Kadri had been suspended eight games for his illegal check to the head on Justin Faulk.

While a lot of hockey fans expected there to be some sort of suspension heading Kadri’s way, a lot of them seemed pretty shocked by the number of games he was given.

This is now Kadri’s sixth suspension, with the last two coming in the playoffs, and his last two suspensions have totalled 13 games.

Did they get the amount of games right or should it have been a different number?
