We all know how dangerous MMA can be at times, but that usually pertains to the two combatants in the ring or octagon.
This past Saturday in Thailand, a Muay Thai referee found out the hard way that the sport doesn't always automatically dismiss them from any chance of being struck just because of their occupation.
During a match between Gou Dakui and Super X Sitsontidech, Dakui lost the first round and was starting to tilt the fight in his favour.
Dakui then landed a massive right that shook up Sitsontidech. As the ref noticed Sitsontidech was wobbly against the ropes, Dakui sought for the finishing blow but ended up connecting with a vicious kick right in the face of the poor ref.
Right after Sitsontidech dropped to the canvas, so did the ref, as Dakui pulled off the inadvertent double knockout.
Just listen to the commentators completely in shock on what just occurred.
"Oh my god, the referee got kicked, the referee got knocked down!" said one of the broadcasters. "That is something I have never seen in over 30 years of watching Muay Thai!"
Dakui, a hometown favourite coming into the match, was eventually awarded a victory by TKO to improve to 21-9 to go along with the KO, which was deemed unintentional.
