We’ve all seen the butchered fan jerseys that combine two different jerseys, often of rival teams for maximum pettiness, into one hideous hydra. They’re a guaranteed magnet for ridicule, which might be why the internet keeps going back to them.

Now it looks like an official merchandiser is getting into the trend — Mitchell & Ness is producing a collection of split jerseys honouring NFL and NBA legends.

In all, there are 20 jerseys being sold on the Mitchell & Ness website. Here are some of the highlights from the NBA side, if you would consider them such.

These are just simple home-and-away splits, so fans won’t have to deal with the conflict of repping two separate teams at once. Still, we get the feeling that these jerseys are going to cause a bit of controversy anyway.

You’ve just gotta admit that BarDown’s own NBA and NHL mash-up jerseys are better, right?

Which NHL jersey mashup would you like to see in the future? 🔥😂 via @bardown
