Injuries are by far the worst part of sports.
Regardless of who you cheer for, nobody wants to see a player get seriously hurt. These athletes put so much time and effort into trying to be the best and they put their bodies on the line each and every game for their teammates, so it really sucks when an injury prevents them from doing that.
On Thursday night, there were no games in the NHL and NBA as the leagues were off for American Thanksgiving, but there were some football games, and not just in the NFL.
No. 14 Mississippi State was looking for their second straight win as they look on their rivals Ole Miss in the Egg Cup.
Unfortunately the game was overshadowed by a gruesome injury that happened early in the 1st quarter to Bulldogs quarterback Nick Fitzgerald.
The Junior was enjoying an incredible season, but based on how gruesome the injury was, he won't get to see the season through which is heartbreaking. As tough as the moment was for Fitzgerald, he displayed what kind of a person and leader he is as he was being carted off. Mississippi State went on to lose the game, but we just hope Fitzgerald gets better and returns to the field as soon as he can. (H/T: Barstool Sports)
