It’s been quite the season for Minnesota Wild youngster Jordan Greenway.

The Canton, New York product started off the season playing his junior season at the University of Boston, where he would finished the season with 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 36 games.

With NHL players exempt from the 2018 Olympics, Greenway was on a unique shortlist of college players that were on USA Hockey’s radar, and was named to the 2018 US Men’s Olympic Hockey team.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound power forward didn’t stop there, as he helped BU win the 2018 Hockey East Tournament. The Terries fell short of advancing to the Frozen Four, but that wasn’t the end of his season. Less than 24 hours after his collegiate season came to a close, Greenway signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Wild, who selected him in the 2nd round (50th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Greenway suited up in six regular season games for the Wild, tallying just one assists and burning a year of his rookie contract. By suiting up in Game 1 of the Wild and Jets series, Greenway did something nobody in the history of the hockey has ever done: he played in the Olympics, the NCAA Ice Hockey tournament and the Stanley Cup Playoffs all in the same season.

The 21-year-old made his presence known in the series by setting 40-year-old Matt Cullen for the Wild’s first goal of the game. Greenway drew defenders as he curled up after gaining the zone, pulled up around the faceoff dot, and spotted Cullen with a pretty backhand sauce.

Not a bad way to start off your professional hockey career.
