Mike Modano was selected first overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota North Stars and he played four seasons in Minnesota before the team eventually relocated to Dallas in 1993.
Now, the Hockey Hall of Famer is back where it all started as he’s now working for the Minnesota Wild as an Executive Advisor. On Thursday night Modano was the special guest at the Minnesota Twins’ game against the Washington Nationals, which meant he got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Modano didn’t just throw out the opening pitch, though, as he also paid a visit to the broadcasting booth during the game and gave baseball colour commentary a shot.
During his four seasons in Minnesota, Modano scored 123 goals and 309 points in 317 games and then went on to score another 434 goals and 1,050 points in 1,1142 games in Dallas.
