The Baltimore Ravens’ coaching staff and the players on the team were just about the only people who had faith in Lamar Jackson as a starting quarterback coming into this season and he’s made them look like the smartest people on the planet all season long.
Jackson entered Thursday night’s contest against the New York Jets just 23 rushing yards shy of breaking Michael Vick’s record for most rushing yards in a single season by a quarterback and it didn’t take him very long.
When someone’s about to break your record you’re going to watch every second of the game to witness history and the next generation of greatness, and you can bet Michael Vick was taking in the action. As soon as Jackson broke his 13-year record from the 2006 season, Vick shared a special message with the new record holder.
Thursday night’s game was Jackson’s 21st start of his career and he’s already breaking records left, right and centre. Vick holds the all-time rushing record by a quarterback with 6,109 yards, and considering Jackson has nearly 2,000 rushing yards through his first 21 starts, it’s safe to say he’s well on pace to break that record, too.
Only a matter of time until your friends tell you you’re not allowed to play as the Ravens in Madden anymore.
