The Ottawa Senators are probably wishing they never play the Edmonton Oilers again after completing their nine game series against them on Thursday night.
The Oil took care of business with a 3-1 win, capping off an unprecedented NINTH straight victory against the nation’s capital. Nine straight wins! The charge was, of course, led by the NHL’s two leading goal-scorers and their stats through the stretch are almost not for believing. Of the team’s 41 goals scored, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl combined for 42 points. Just take a look at these stats…
As TSN’s Frank Seravlli noted, we might not see anything like this again.
13-15-4 against every other team. Pure dominance from Edmonton.
It’s crazy to think that Draisaitl, who’s second in the NHL with 61 points, has scored more than a third of his points against the Sens while McDavid, 68, has recorded more than a quarter of his in the process. The duo has combined this season for 45 of Edmonton’s 134 goals this season, a ridiculous 33.6%. Yeah, these guys have been dominant 41 games this year.
We’re witnessing greatness, especially Sens fans. Just sit back and enjoy, everyone!
