Max Domi has been all smiles through the Montreal Canadiens’ red-hot start to the year.

The former Arizona Coyote was traded to the Habs over the summer and has helped lead them to top spot in the Eastern conference with a 5-1-2 record. Domi has earned eight points of his own (2 G, 6 A) and picked up two apples in Montreal’s 3-2 home win over the Flames. A W will brighten any player’s evening, but things got ramped up a notch when the forward was visited by one of his childhood idols following the game. His father’s old teammate and childhood hero Mats Sundin was in attendance and made sure to pay his younger buddy a visit after the action cooled off. It made for a pretty special moment.

That right there is the ultimate dream for any hockey fan who grew up in Toronto!

You can probably connect the dots by now that Domi’s #13 is in honour of the former Leafs captain. He rocked the number as a kid until he was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. Thereafter he chose to wear fellow diabetic Bobby Clarke’s 16, but reverted back to his original digits in Montreal. Seeing him wear the number in the blue, red and white is just a little weird once you think about it!

Mats was recently in Toronto for the NHL Alumni Awards so it was nice of him to swing by Montreal for a little visit. Every hockey fan can agree that both him and Domi (and Domi’s old man for that matter) are all a bunch of beauties!
