Matthew Stafford made the move from Detroit to Los Angeles this offseason, and he is absolutely THRIVING as the Rams starting quarterback. Despite having a down week in Week 4, and only throwing one touchdown in Week 5, rumblings of potential MVP candidacy continue to follow around the 33-year-old.
You have to feel good for the guy, as there are a lot of likeable qualities that he brings to a football team. His leadership, his positive attitude, but one of the best qualities he brings is his lead-by-example toughness. Stafford is literally as tough as they come.
Anyone remember this?
That was back in 2009, and while Stafford has dealt with more than his share of injury problems, he will ALWAYS give it his 100% effort.
On Thursday, Stafford was back in primetime for a date with the Seattle Seahawks. Midway through the game, Stafford appeared to injure his hand when he smacked his finger while following through on a pass.
FOX Sports cameras caught Stafford getting his finger taped up on the sideline, and he was clearly in some pain. In true Stafford fashion, he returned to the game and helped the Rams secure a victory.
After the game, Stafford talked to Erin Andrews about the injury. He believes that it was popped out of place, but he had it popped back in and kept playing.
During the offseason, the Rams had Staffordβs O-lineman where pillows on their helmets in hopes of preventing injury after a scare during camp. Stafford also injured his finger back in 2016 in the same fashion.
Regardless of how it happens, you know that Stafford will do absolutely everything in his power to continue benefitting his team.
