The Columbus Blue Jackets shocked the hockey community by sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning in the opening round of the series and one player they can thank for their first round sweep is Matt Duchene.
It took Duchene a little while to find his game in Columbus as he tallied just four goals and 12 points in 23 games with the Blue Jackets after notching 27 goals and 58 points in 50 games with the Senators, but the 28-year-old nearly matched his season total (with Columbus) by scoring three goals and seven points in four games against Tampa Bay.
Since Duchene and the Blue Jackets have plenty free time as they await their second round opponent, the 2009 third overall pick spent some of his downtime performing Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s ‘Shallow’ for his son, Beau, and the youngster absolutely loved it.
This is easily the best thing you’ll watch all week. Maybe even all month.
