The Stanley Cup has lived quite the eventful life as hockey’s most sought after trophy. While the iconic piece of hardware is treasured by all those that earn a hoisting, it’s definitely had its fair share of durability tests.
That, of course, includes the classic tradition of eating/drinking out of the Cup’s bowl.
From locker room champagne showers to golf course hot dog hilarity (looking at you, Phil), the Cup has been the vessel for a lot of consumption. On Sunday, the situation got a little stickier for Ol’ Stanley when Quebec native Mathieu Joseph decided to go full Canadian with a poutine out of the Cup.
Eating poutine out of hockey’s greatest trophy. That’s a Canadian Heritage Moment right there!
