Being a cameraman in professional sports is a lot harder than it seems. For one, the equipment can sometimes be heavy, and considering that most sporting events last for a minimum 2.5 hours, holding up a piece of equipment in a specific position can be tiring at times.

This, of course, has to be done by maintaining a good frame and making sure the focus is perfect. There’s nothing worse than watching a sports game and the camera shot isn’t focused on the ball, puck or player, and before you know it, the primary part of the play was missed.

A cameraman rarely ever gets the credit they deserve, but they will certainly hear about any mishaps on the job.

Sometimes, cameramen even get a little jittery and decide to go on adventures seeking the perfect shot that their director wants.

Such was the case during the Islanders and Bruins game on Thursday night from New York. Midway through the third period, the NESN broadcast of the game cut to a shot of an Islanders cameraman going for a stroll back to his spot in between the benches. As he walked by Islanders bench, he caught a piece of Mathew Barzal’s stick that sent him for a spin before he was able to regain his footing. Embarrssed already, the poor guy makes dash to his special spot and barely makes it over the top of the boards, as he tries to hide from any on lookers.

Have a watch for yourself.

Yikes, now that’s dedication to the craft!

He definitely wasn’t wearing the proper footwear for that little walk. Imagine if he fell to the ice and completely had a yard sale in front of everyone with his expensive camera smashing everywhere.

It’s pretty funny and ironic that the poor cameraman couldn’t escape another cameraman’s footage. After all, that guy probably has captured some pretty embarrassing crowd shots over the years that people probably wish wasn’t recorded. At least he wasn't injured, or did damage to his equipment

Regardless, this is one of the funnier moments we’ve seen in a while, especially with the way Bruins commentator Jack Edwards summarized it.

Let's just hope nobody messed with that guy or gives him a hard time about this, because we know camermen can be a little fiesty at times.
