We always knew that Mat Barzal was fast, but last night, he proved he's the fastEST.
Despite admitting that he went into it "skating for second place" Barzal became the NHL's fastest skater, winning the Fastest Skater competition at All Star Weekend.
With the impressive 13.175 second lap, he pulled off a major upset and dethroned three-time champ Connor McDavid.
After the win, he gave some pretty funny credit to his victory.
Barzal told the NHL Network that he actually brought his regular New York Islanders trainers with him to the Skills Competition, and credited his win to them sharpening his skates the way he's used to.
Talk about humble!
