It was a very emotional start to the college football season for the Maryland Terrapins as they hit the field one player short than they were supposed to have. This past May, 19-year-old redshirt offensive lineman Jordan McNair collapsed during a team workout and passed away a couple of weeks later.

The Terrapins will honour McNair all season long with No. 79 decals on the back of their helmets, they found a very special way to pay tribute to McNair once the first game of the season got underway. On the opening offensive play of the game, the Terps lined up with just 10 men and left a spot empty in honour of McNair.

Since they lined up a man short the officials had no choice but to give them a delay of game penalty. However, some things are bigger than sports as Texas showed a lot of class by declining the penalty.
