Drawing a penalty in hockey can definitely be a case of happenstance, but it doesn’t always have to be. In fact, some players are known for their ability to draw out the penalties (and perhaps a few embellishments along the way).

This may be the reason why Mark Scheifele decided to send a wink in the direction of Corey Crawford following his drawing of a penalty. Scheifele was the “victim” of a holding call that sent Chicago Blackhawks Gustav Forsling to the penalty box.

@mscheif with a little wink at Corey Crawford last night after drawing a penalty 😉

That wink was perfect. Honestly, some people try their whole lives and can’t deliver a wink that good. Remind you of anyone?

Luckily for Crawford and the ‘Hawks, they managed to kill off that particular penalty. Unfortunately they were still defeated in a high-scoring 6-5 game.
