Masters Nation was dealt a big blow on Friday night when Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock called out TSN's first-class reporter for showing up to the Leafs and Red Wings game in Detroit with his shoes unpolished.

After bouncing back against the Penguins on Saturday night, the Leafs were back in action on Monday against the Ducks, giving Masters a perfect chance to redeem himself.

At the morning skate, former Maple Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle got a kick out of Masters' unpolished kicks and laughed with the media about how much play it got.

Fast forward to Master's pre-game interview with Babcock, and with the pressure of Masters Nation on the weight of his shoulders, Masters knew he had to come prepared this time around and not disappoint the Leafs' bench boss once again.

You’ve redeemed yourself...by polishing your dress shoes, @markhmasters. 😂

Way to respond, Mark. With the weather warming up in Eastern North America, there really was no excuse with all the salt washed away.

Babcock is a man that lives up to his word, and even-handed Masters the five bucks he said he'd give him so he could purchase the shoe shine.

"You're off the case, Masters, for now!" - Jay Onrait, probably.
