Kobe Bryant tragically died on Sunday in a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight others, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
The basketball world is mourning the loss of one of the best to ever do it, paying tribute in all kinds of ways, and although Kobe never played for the Dallas Mavericks, owner Mark Cuban has made the decision to permanently retire his No. 24.
It's a touching tribute by the Mavs, and one wonders if any other teams or perhaps the NBA itself will decide to do the same in time.
