Who’s the biggest agitator in the game? Some may say Ryan Kesler, others may bring up Matthew Tkachuk, but there’s one thing for sure – nobody is answering without at least first considering Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand.

Marchand has made a living out of getting under people’s skin, and on top of that he’s developed into one of the more dangerous offensive players in the league. The combination is a perfect recipe for fans to hate on. One particular group of fans knows that all too well – Vancouver Canucks fans.

Saying that, Marchand took the high road when it was announced that his famous rivalry with the Sedin twins, Henrik and Daniel, would be coming to an end upon their retirement. Marchand took a moment to congratulate the Sedins on their Hall of Fame careers,

From a player that often feels the wrath of being considered not classy, this was a nice gesture. Of course, it didn’t sit well with everyone.

Canucks fans offered up their ridicule, mixed in with a little surprise, towards the Bruins forward. Marchand, having been dealt a savage response opportunity on a silver platter, couldn’t help but respond to the Canucks faithful, bringing up a marquee moment in his tumultuous relationship with the rival.

This is referring, of course, to the 2011 Stanley Cup finals when the Boston Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks in a hard-fought 7-game series. The series would mark the closest the Sedin Twins (as well as the Canucks’ franchise in general) has come to lifting Lord Stanley’s mug. Needless to say, this kicked off another wave of reaction.

There was a bunch of negative comments as well, but we’re sure you can imagine what that was all about. If not, here’s a list of the response from his original Tweet.

Which #NHL pest do you love do hate? 👀
