Father’s Day is different this time around for the Domi family.

Just days before the holiday, Max, the son of legendary enforcer Tie, was sent packing to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Alex Galchenyuk. After a rough 2017-18 season in which Max scored just nine goals, a change of scenery should be seen as a good thing for the Winnipeg native. The only issue? Well, his dad may have thrown a punch or two at some former Habs players in his day. After spending most of his career with the team’s rival Toronto Maple Leafs, you can’t help but wonder if Tie is actually happy with his son’s new landing spot. Max seems to be convinced, though, that his dad will still root for the team.

At least he’s back in Canada…?

A relatively small player with a chip on his shoulder, Montreal fits the mold as a logical landing spot for the 23-year-old. He will now join fellow speedster Brendan Gallagher and attempt to bring the historic franchise back to the postseason. The Habs finished with a dreadful 29-40-11 record; the fourth worst in the NHL.

Trading Places! Which player will have the biggest impact on their new team? 🤔🔥

Domi wasn’t the only player to give his pops some love on social media. Johnny Gaudreau and others made sure to post their best stuff.

Happy Father’s Day to this beauty! Always there for my siblings and I! We love ya!

Happy Father’s day to all of the dad’s out there! Hopefully you’ll learn from Tie and support your kid(s) wherever they end up playing.
