Game 1 did not go the way Toronto Maple Leafs fans were expecting it to go and they received some more bad news on Friday evening. As if a 5-1 loss to open up the playoffs wasn’t bad enough, they’ll have to play the next three games of their opening round series without the services of Nazem Kadri, who was suspended three games for his hit on Tommy Wingels in Game 1.
With Leafs fans being some of the most passionate hockey fans on the planet, you can bet they didn’t take this news very well on the eve of a massive Game 2 on the road.
Most people knew a suspension was coming the moment the hit happened, but a lot of them expected Kadri to get two games at most considering it’s the playoffs. However, NHL Department of Player Safety felt a little different.
Game 2 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins goes down Saturday night in Boston.
