Lotte Giants play televised intrasquad game as KBO League plans late-April return

Sports fans are wondering when they’re going to see a live sporting event again as leagues and events around the world continue to get cancelled or postponed.

Meanwhile, the KBO League got a little closer to returning to action on Friday in Busan, South Korea, as the Lotte Giants played a televised instrasquad game.

Well, the Lotte Giants just played the first of three televised intrasquad games (April 10, 14 & 18) in Busan, South Korea as the KBO League looks to start its season next month. Coronavirus cases have been on a downward trend in South Korea to the point where the 10-team league believes they’ll not only be able to start in early May, but they’ll be able to play the entire 144-game season with preseason games beginning on April 21.

This isn’t just good news for sports fans, it’s good news for everyone because it shows that social distancing really does play a huge role in getting things back to normal.
