In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the Druid City Brewing brewery unveiled a mural that depicts Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban as Thanos of Avengers: Infinity War infamy. The level of detail is impressive, and it’s a remarkable way to enshrine the coach’s five national championships with Alabama:
In the background of the image, you can recognize a few Marvel deep-cuts that didn’t feature in Infinity War, such as the Silver Surfer and Dormammu. Points for the attention to detail!
Under Saban, many of Alabama’s players over the years have made it to the NFL, including 12 in the 2018 draft alone. He has become something of an institution, a monumental figure in the college landscape. The Thanos comparison is apt.
