Messi and Barcelona. Two names synonymous with each other in soccer for more than a decade. Messi has had arguably the most decorated career in soccer history and to imagine him leaving Barcelona is truly unfathomable. Fans were truly heartbroken about the news.
Messi and Barca had some tough times negotiating near the end of his deal, but it was clear Messi wanted to stay at Barca for the rest of his career. Messi held a press conference saying goodbye to Barca, and it was truly emotional for him to leave his boyhood club.
Messi even tried to reduce his salary in half to stay at the club, showing how dedicated he was to the club.
He will now reportedly move on to play for PSG in France.
