The Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t pick up the win they were hoping for against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night, allowing Philly to snatch the #1 overall seed while leaving their own future opponent up in the air. Rather than play the lowest seed Montreal Canadiens, Tampa will be tasked with either the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Columbus Blue Jackets, pending Sunday night’s result.
When asked about the Bolts’ future opponent, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper gave a very Jon Cooper answer.
Anyone that hasn’t been living under a rock knows that the Leafs and Blue Jackets exchanged 3-goal comebacks in consecutive games, including the Buds staving off elimination by finding the back of the net three times in just three and a half minutes with their net empty.
Never feel too comfortable. That’s a good approach to have as a head coach, right?
