One of the major elements of sport is muscle memory. A golfer’s swing, a pitcher’s release, or a defenceman’s slap shot are all examples of how muscle memory can help allow athletes to master their craft.
This rule applies to basketball as well. The step back, the box out, the free throw. Add dunk to that list as well, as two dunks LeBron James slammed home have been put side-by-side and they look shockingly identical.
These dunks were four years apart. To make it even more odd, both dunks came against the Phoenix Suns. Both were also in Phoenix. The biggest difference between the two is that James was a member of the Heat rather than his most recent slam as a Cleveland Cavalier.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen a little reincarnation happen on the hardwood this year…
