Could you imagine LeBron James and Steph Curry on the same team?
Believe it or not, those two played as teammates for the first time at this year’s All-Star Weekend, and from the looks of things, LeBron was thrilled to have Steph on his team for the exhibition, lavishing all kinds of praise on his former Finals foe.
According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, LeBron has in fact started the process of recruiting Steph to the Los Angeles Lakers over the All-Star break. Steph’s contract expires after next season, and he’ll be eligible for an extension this offseason.
Whether or not Steph would want to leave the Warriors is still unclear. While this year’s team has been underwhelming, they’ll get Klay Thompson back healthy next season, and No. 2 pick James Wiseman probably takes a leap in his development as well.
Not to mention... the Warriors have the Minnesota Timberwolves' first round pick this year as long as it falls outside of the top-3.
Steph just turned 33 years old this month, and it’s fair to wonder how much longer his window to contend as one of the NBA’s elite players remains open for. It would be scary to imagine LeBron and Steph joining forces... but for context, even Windhorst’s own podcast co-hosts met the report with some, um, skepticism.
