LeBron James has been a household name basically since the decade began.  James' first season in the NBA was in 2003, but we've known about him since he was in high school, that's how transcendent he was at the time.

17 years ago, Nike took a chance on the high school phenom and he's become the unrivalled face of the brand.  Thursday, LeBron and Nike commemorated the 17-year mark of their partnership with a powerful ad about Akron.

One of the top responses to the tweet was this video of a young LeBron saying he's a "Nike Guy" and talking about joining the brand.

The message in the video was incredibly important and powerful.  James is doing everything he can on and off the court to inspire and help youth in Akron and the world.  Even if you don't like him is a player, you have to respect him as a person for that.
