On Sunday, Los Angeles-based rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting outside of his store in South L.A.

Hussle has been an active rapper for over a decade within the West Coast scene and finally released his debut studio album, Victory Lap, to critical acclaim last year. He was regarded as a positive leader in his community and his passing had a profound effect on many people.

There was a significant response from the sports world as prominent athletes took to social media to mourn the fallen rapper.
